After
much research and debate between getting a Ford F250 or the new Nissan
Titan the Nissan won out. So in December of 2003 we went to
Nissan's web site every single day we looked at hundreds of dealers on
the west coast. We were willing to go as far as it took to get
the truck we wanted. I found it really interesting that I could
find a fully loaded LE 4X4 on the east coast without side impact air
bags. I wonder why that is?
So on December 16, 2003 we found 2 silver 4X4 Crew Cab LE's on the west
coast, 1 in Texas and 1 in Tracy California. We called the dealer
in Tracy since we live in So Cal and struck a deal. I had to
think about it overnight. I was still leaning toward the Smoke
color.
I finally gave in at 3:00PM on Dec 17th and started driving north to
pick up our truck. We got there at 9:00PM and drove away at
10:00PM. We got home at 4:00AM the next day after having to use
the fog lamps for 2 hours to navigate the tule fog in the San Joaquin
Valley.
I don't think there was a system on the truck I didn't use on the trip
home. We used the DVD for the kids, the navigator for the kids so
they would quit asking "how long till we get home?". The fog
lights, the defogger, the adjustable seat must have been adjusted at
least 20 times, the radio, the CD player, the heated seat, the fog
lamps. I even put it into 4X4 just to see how it felt for a
little way.
The only thing I have changed is to add Cryogenically treated slotted
front rotors and carbon-kevlar pads. Can't really think of
anything else to add.
Myself, my husband, my daughter, and my son will never get stuck in the
sand again at Pismo Beach when we take our quads out on our trailer
thanks to the 4X4. We try to go once a month in the winter to the
desert and sometimes in the summer to the beach. We use the 4X4
once a month to go to take German lessons in Acton.
If I ever get rich I will buy an Armada too. The only time my
hubby gets to drive is when I am tired. I love my truck and so do
the kids.
