What is this SSV Feature in the RF system? What does SSV stand for?

I believe it stands for speed sensitive volume. As you accelerate and get to a certain speed it increases the volume to accomodate for road noise

JoeyCrack is correct. Speed Sensitive Volume.
It makes the volume go down as you slow/stop and increase as you speed back up.
I switched mine off in both my Titan and wife's Maxima.

Push the right knob and it will cycle through a series of options each time you press it (bass, mid, treble). In there is SSV. When you get to it, turn the knob to select high, med, low, off. Select off.
Dumb feature IMO. My BMW has it also and I can't figure out how to turn it off.

Ditto. Stupid idea someone came up with . Not limited to Nissan.
Turn it 'off'.

I was going to create a new post and ask the same question "What is SSV". The owner's manual doesn't address SSV and describe what it is. It just tells you how to set it. Or did I miss something?
Anyhow, the Camaro and Firebird's high end Monsoon stereos had it, also,

I have found I that if the SSV is set in the middle setting it’s about perfect. You don’t seem to notice it getting louder, just that you can still hear the radio equally as well at all speeds. On the high setting the volume seems to rise a little too much but then again it’s about right if you have the windows down.
I personally love this feature, there is nothing more annoying the having to constantly adjust the volume in stop and go traffic to keep a comfortable level.
