It's better than the basic system.
It's comparable to other OEM premium upgrades.
It's not better than aftermarket basic or low end components. (have a
look at your PAPER coned tweeters in the Dash)
It's not a "real" RF system but it does have some RF circuitry.

You can directly swap the speakers with "Real" aftermarket RF Punch
entry level Speakers. (or I would imagine other aftermarket) Anything
larger and the AMP won't be able to supply enough power.
Your can replace the AMP as well. You will need to use a high level
converter to convert the speaker outs to RCA.
The two previous options allow you the keep the stock RF Head unit.

This is actually disappointing to hear. I know I wanted the RF
option so I wouldn't have to go out and spend additional money on top
of a truck payment, to get a sweet sounding stereo...especially on a
truck I want to keep for a while.
I'm really disappointed to hear about the paper cone speakers. I hope an aftermarket replacement sub-woofer comes out too.
Right now, I run my stereo around 13-15 on the volume with the Bass and
Treble both at +5, Mid at +1, and that seems to be its max for my music.
Although it sounds good, I was hoping for a little more "umph" from it.
I am a little leary of having Car Toys or someone put aftermarket
speakers in my Titan. I had them replace the stock speakers on my
old Ford Ranger with Infinities and they did a poor job replacing the
door panels.

My wife has an Infiniti G35 with the Bose system. The RF blows it away although that's not saying much. But for a OEM system, it's pretty darn good.

My wife's 2004 Maxima has a Bose system in it too. It actually
sounds really good. I can't say I've done a side by side
comparison, but the system in her Maxima cranks nicely.

I agree with the initial post. OEM is just that its OEM unfortunately people are being fooled by company names being tagged on them. Take for instance the performance edition vehicles that really aren't so performance oriented. I enjoy my RF stereo for what it is, recognize its faults but don't plan to change it. It does what I want it to do and I can always upgrade some other time
