I have an SE, bench seat (no center console), with an overhead console. This allows backseat sitters to control the audio from the rear and to listen to something other than what's playing in the cabin - at least that's what the salesman said. Again from the rear controls, you can cycle through the different audio selections using the MODE button: AM, FM, CD, DVD, AUX.

On mine you can cycle through AM, FM, CD - that's it. I don't have a factory DVD, but I think I should be able to access AUX from the rear. (Why else would put a light there?). But I can't.

Would you do me a favor and check your vehicle out and see of yours does the same thing?

I have talked to my local service department and they are staffed with idiots.

Thanks for your help!

I'll have to check my controls when I get home tonight..

One note about the back controls I found:

If you have the stereo knob turned to a low volume (like level 5), the rear controls will only operate in the range of 0-5.  If the knob is set to level 20, the rear control range is 0-20 etc...

You might want to check any "settings" you have made on the head unit because it might restrict settings in the rear.

I have no idea what would not allow you to cycle.  I'll let you know what I find.

(I'm in Gilbert, AZ -- What dealer did you go through?)

I'm in Ahwatukee. Bought mine from ABC Nissan @ invoice - 3% dealer holdback. Buy all new vehicles through the internet is my advice.

I called Nissan Customer Care. They claim there is a bulletin out regarding the lack of AUX on the rear console. But they wouldn't give me the number. (The only one posted on the internet is for stereo/monoraul problem). So I guess I can't avoid dealing with intellectually challenged service departments. ABC Nissan is too far away for service, so I guess I'll try Brown & Brown Tempe. (They are who I was referring to before.)

I'm guessing that Customer Care may intellectually challenged also. But they succeeded in closing my inquiry. I should have time to take my truck in soon, so we'll see if the Infomration Age has hit Brown & Brown yet.
