Hey guys - just picked up a 2004 yesterday with 40 miles on it. Great truck. Noticed one flaw however - two "bubbles" in the paint, on the hood. I told the dealership they will NOT repaint the whole hood - I want the two "pimples" isolated and fixed. They said they can do this - (next week, couldn't do anything on a Saturday).

I had a similar problem with a new Durango  - but was a little disappointed to see this in a new Nissan. Anyone have paint problems? Any paint "jockeys" that can tell me, will they be able to isolate this area only? I wouldn't think it was that big of a deal...

Thoughts? Thanks much - Jim

Don't be so sad I have been in a fight to get my truck looked at by a paint inspector from Nissan since September. We bought it new on August 28 2004. They won't just fix the paint. They have to have the inspector verify the issues. I have several thin spots on the truck. This has been verified by the dealer and compaired to others on the lot. Hope you get your problem solved quickly and wihtout the paint inspector requirement.

I am taking it in tomorrow (Friday). They have a guy who does touch-up work and he's hopefully going to get it taken care of. I told them they will be taking another hood off another truck if he thinks it needs to be completely re-painted, but after looking at it a couple days later - it doesn't seem like it's going to be that big of a deal. Thanks for the comeback and happy Thanksgiving. I'll let you know what they tell me... Jim

The paint coat is so thin it scratches so easy. This cheap for Nissan.

They gave me a new truck. Sorry it took so long to get back. They said the hood would have to be re-shot -- I said, "No Freaking Way," and left. About an hour later they called - said they'd swap out. Great dealership. No problems with new one. - Jim
