HELLO,

I HAVE A 2004 TITAN SE WITH 11,000 MILES ON IT.  FOR THE LAST FEW MONTHES I HAVE BEEN HEARING A SPARK KNOCK OR LABOR KNOCK FROM THE ENGINE ON NORMAL DRIVING.  THE DEALERSHIP TELLS ME I SHOULD JUST TURN THE RADIO ON SO I CAN'T HEAR IT.  THEY SAY ARE NOT GOING TO FIX IT AND THAT NISSAN SAYS THE TRUCK IS FINE AND TO LEAVE IT ALONE.  ANYONE HAVE ANY SIMILIAR PROBLEMS LET ME KNOW.  I NEED HELP.  IVE ALREADY GOT NISSAN ENVOLVED WITH THIS PROBLEM.

THANKS,

CHRIS

Tell them you hate music and the radio in general, never use it, and the damned noise is bothering you. Tell them to insert ear plugs if they don't want to listen to you complain.

The squeeky wheel gets the oil. Sometimes you just got to be "that guy" and be persistant in the matter. You don't pay over $20,000 for something and expect it to immediately start having trouble. You have to stay on them until they give up and give you what you want.

Check out the service bullitins and print out and bring to your service rep.  There is a SB about an engine knock:

I hear a knocking noise also! The dealership said it the expanding of plastic from cold weather to hot weather!

What about brakes & rotors! I have 7800 miles and I am on my second set!

The knock is an electrical interfierence.  On Titan Talk this dude figured it out and you have to put an additional 4 guage ground wire on the motor.

guess what guys!!!  service engine light on again.  this is third time since i bought it.  11,500 miles at this point.  was the knock that the guy was hearing very loud.  mine is very quite and you have to really focus your ears above the engine noise.  is the 4 guage wire just an engine ground.  do you think i need to point this out to the dealership.  this truck has really been a headache and caused me alot of problems.  12 or 13 times back to the dealership up to this point has really sucked.  anyway thanks forthe info.
