My Titan is a 2004 2WD SE, 8k miles. On my way to school today I noticed when starting in first gear, (like from a stop sign/light) the tranny seemed to be slipping or hesitating when it was about to shift out of first gear, and it did it around 5-8 times on the 6 mile drive to school, not every time, but on most starts under moderate accel. But on the way home, no matter what gear it tried to shift into it just kept slipping. It was kind of like you were losing traction on a gravely road, the rpms wouldn't stay constant when apply the same throttle and now power was given... Whats wrong with me poor truck?      ( I have towed a 2200lb trailer for the past 3 months everyweekend in tow mode if that has to do with anything)

I too am experiencing transmissions problems same as yours.  I own a 2005.  Prior to this problem my air conditioner wasn't working.  We were foolish not to have checked it after buying our truck but it was winter and just didn't think about it.  When we tried it last month it wasn't cooling.  Took it in and was told a rock hit the condenser thus it was our problem.  I didn't fight it because our insurance only required us to pay a $50.00 deductable and we didn't want to fight it.  The day I picked it up the transmission slipped a couple of times and like you, it wasn't every time.  I called the next day told them and they said bring it in which I did.  They kept it a couple of days and wasn't able to reproduce the problem.  A mile from the dealership it slipped again.  I again called and told them I'd keep track of when and how much it happened.  It was ridicilous how many times in a week the problem persisted.  Two weeks later I took it back in.  I drove the service manager around and it acted up with him in the truck.  They were supposed to give me a new transmission but when they called today to pick it up I was told it was the transmission cooling system that was the problem therefore no new transmission.

I was told the transmission was almost out of fluid but not to worry, it won't hurt it!  In all fairness, I think I should be given a new truck!  I drive almost 100 miles a day to and from work and bought a new truck to give me reliable transportation to and from and I'm worried I'm going to end up stuck on the side of the road.  I just made my third payment and I'm really having regrets.  We own a 1995 small Nissan that has 260,000 miles on it which is what sold me on purchasing a new Titan.  I pick my truck up tomorrow and what is my next step if the problem isn't fixed?????

Thanks
