Has anyone installed the aluminum differential cover on there 04 titan? I

am thinking about doing it, and was wondering if there are any problems I might encounter?

I have awhite extended cab with the big tow and off road LE. I will be pulling a travel trailer with a gross weight rating of 7300 lbs.

I will appreciate any info you may have to offer.

 Thanks Toms Titan

I think it should be a TSB to replace it. I looked under my truck and found the paint on my rear differential peeling off from heat.

Dan thanks for the comeback, but Nissan won't do the change under a tsb.Tjey will do only by customer payed service, and there is some doubt Nissan would honora warranty repair should the differential fail at A latter date.         & nbsp;         Thanks again for the comeback

Have a 2004 LE 4X4 with the off road and big tow package, contacted Nissan consumer affairs, told them about my concerns, said to go ahead and have the dealer install one, took about 4 weeks to get one, dealer called when it came in, installed unit at no charge to me at all. read the link below for reinstalling the rear differential oil, supposed to use Nissan's 75W/140 Synthetic Oil after any maintenance is done to the rear-end. I used Amsoil 75W-140 Sever Gear Synthetic, they have to honor any oil as long the oil meets API codes.

All I had to do was drain the oil out of the rear end. When I did this chunks of the spider gears came out and the fluid was silver in color. Took the truck back and a 05 rearend was installed. No Problems.

Why not increase capacity as well and go with this?

Did your truck give you any warning before at all before the failure, vibration, rattling, etc.?

The traction controll system started taking over (the "SLIP" light on the dash) on the loose sand road that I have to go down to get to my house. After it was replaced, it started acting fine again.

I just looked under my rear end and found gear oil seaping out of the joints around the axle and the cover.

Just replaced diff cover with alum. one and syn. lube. about 5 miles later the clutch paks in the diff locked up and now am replacing the rear. Nissan WILL pay for the new alum cover with a little creative claim, as the steel one warps when hot and leaks, you can not get a steel cover from nissn anymore as per a service file.
