i have a 05 se krew cab 4x2...no tow package. im amazed of the mpg that the members here are getting. right now the truck has a total of 450 miles on it. im averaging about 60 miles per quarter= very low mpg. is this normal? im a lil concern since i wasnt expecting this. i do most driving on highway. when i drive in the city i usually dont drive with the A/C...im a lil concern since you know car payment, insurance, and gas....so yeah im a lil worried about this...what do you guys think of this. is this normal? have any of you experienced this with your new titans? you think my gas gauge may have problems and showing the wrong amount of gas i actually have?

when do you believe i will start to get an improvement? or anyone post and tell us around what mileage/fill-up you started to noticed an increase in mpg. i know its a truck (v8) but i expect better mpg. before even thinking of getting this truck i thought about the new bmw 330+acura TL. but because of work and area where i work at my best solution was a truck. this truck blends, performance, space, and nice looks all in one. besides when i went to bmw and acura both of this cars run on v-6 engines and not only that you have to use premium gas on them if not they wont perform well. i have a friend who has a acura TL. and cant use regular because he notices a big difference in performance. so imagine pumping premium all the time....yikes very expensive. but yeah i hope my trucks mpg starts to increase.

Your mpg seems normal for that low of miles on it. Around 1500 mile or so, after the "break in" period, you will gradually see improvement. Plus, if you add an air intake/exhaust, you will also have slight improvements. I get about 14.3 mpg city, 20-22 mpg highway with 10500 miles on my truck.

Also try putting synthetic fluids in the truck. Typically that will give you 1 to 2 MPG. My Titan has 900 miles on it and I'm puting all Amsoil Synthetic fluids in a week or two.
