I have had my 2006 Titan SE Crew Cab for about 8 months and have 6500 miles on it.  So far the radio has quit working two times.  Both times while playing a CD.  The radio just quit working ...would not change cd track, switch to am/fm, turn off/on or anything.  Both times the dealership had to order a new radio and replace it.  The first time they took one off a truck on the lot and replaced it that day since the truck was ONLY 2 DAYS OLD.  The second time it took three weeks for the radio to come in.  The guy at the dealership said they are replacing quite a few of the radios and that to his knowledge they are not going to stock any at the dealerships or redesign the system.  When I asked him what to do when the warranty ran out his only response was "Buy an aftermarket radio and have it installed".  Needless to say that wasn't the best answer in the world and I am obviously upset with the truck and the service I am getting.  Anyone else having this problem or found any other options to resolve it?

ive heard of a few radios going dead here and there, but i think your biggest problem is your service dept., a rep telling you to buy an aftermarket radio as the fix is in no question the wrong answer lol

I've had my radio replaced twice. Once for the treble cutting out and once for the CD player died. Both times, it took about 1-2 weeks to get the replacement part. Now I've noticed the same problem of the treble cutting out again. My warranty runs out 2 months so it looks like another trip to the dealer!

I had the same problem, had to replace it twice, the first time the replaced the whole thing the second time I went to another dealership and they replaced the face. if you are playing burnt cds (wma or mp3 ) try not too. I think that might be the problem,

Has anyone ever tried the ipod jack in the truck where you can play your ipod music? Other than that I have mostly burned CD's in my recent music collection. Yeah, I'd like a nice aftermarket stereo, but also it would be nice to hear news of better service from Nissan, since that attitude carries over into much more important issues as well.

Yes I have had the same problem but in my 2004 Nissan Sentra. I am now on my fourth cd player and the dealer believes the failure is in the player because I played a burned cd. I think the "new" players are refurbished.

I don't see how the format of music on a cd can cause the player to fail.  If the damn things are failing and you have documented it in their service department that they are being replaced and still failing then you can carry this beyond the standard warranty.

Remember one thing.  The individual parts carry their own warranty.  If you take a 10 year old car into a dealership and he replaces a part and it fails within the parts warranty period, then the dealer is responsible for the part and possibly the labor to replace it, unless the failure is caused by something other than the part itself.

So, as long as you keep having the part replaced as it fails then a warranty will take care of it.  I don't know what the warranty on a Nissan stereo is, but you might ask.
