Well I see I'm the first to post here. Maybe someone will join in the fun. I bought an LE Crew Cab on 01/01/04. Since then I've noticed a tremendous amount of brake dust on all fours. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same thing?

Hey Chuck! I just purchased 3 days ago an SE Crew Cab and was wondering what that was on the inside and certain areas of the rim even shortly after I cleaned it off. That must be the brake dust you are referring to. It could be due to breakin.Let's keep an eye out and get back with each other. If it continues I'll check the master tech. at the dealer I bought it from they are really nice and let you know what he says. As a possible side issue Chuck do you notice your suspension slightly on the firm side? I think it could use some tuning to soften up a bit to ease the bouncing on the highways. Do you experience that? I'm wondering if I can someday change to perhaps some adjustable type of shocks if I can confirm that would help.

Yes, I am noticing the same thing on ours.  We are at 1800 miles now.  I believe Nissan used 'soft' pads in order to reduce rotor wear and warping of which there have been issues on some of thier vehicles in the past.  Just means we will have to replace them more often.  Also, Courtesy Nissan list the replacements at .... Are ya ready?

Fronts: $86

Rear: $64

Same thing on my LE, my Wife has a Toyota Sequoia, same problem, I think this to just keep us consumers coming back for more.  One other thing that happened to mine at about 95 totla miles was I got a "Check Engine Soon" light.  Took it to the dealer and they told me it was nothing more than not making sure that the gas cap was sealed properly.  What this means is to make sure you give the gas cap acouple clicks to avoid this issue.

Damn those are some exspensive brake pads......I think by the time you guys are ready to change them out though, they'll be some aftermarket ones that'll be cheaper and perform better...

titanmike you are close to your first oil change service perhaps you should talk to the service manager and ask him if this is normal on all Nissan products, just to see what he says.
