Anyone have experience with the off road performance kit? I just put a K&N air filter in to replace oem. If I get a air charger system do I have to scrap the new air filter? Will this kit give me xtra gas mileage along with a new performance exhaust system that I will put on  ? I dont care about hp , my first tank of gas lasted about 310 miles I figuresd it was about 12mpg, I would like13 - 13.5 mpg. (Pipe dreams = 15mpg)

Just that yhe truck is brand new and I dont want to F it up!

I'm not familiar with the "Off-Road Performance Kit".

But...

Your "drop-in" K&N filter is not used if you opt for the "Air Charger".  For performance and MILEAGE you'll want the "Air-Charger and a good free flowing exhaust system like the Banks Monster exhaust (pn 48120). I have seen mileage increases of 2-3 mpg with the aforementioned combination.

O.K. about performance exhaust system, How loud is the banks monster exhaust, I had a dynaflow system on my 2001 F150 and it was nice, a little calmer than flowmaster. I want performance but also want to be civilized with the neighbors. Also if I am leaving the factory air filter  box with K&N replacement with only a performance muffler upgrade, will I see any change in MPG ?

Yes, there will be a an increase in mpg by using your proposed combination. The Banks system decreases exhaust backpressure by 300% over the stock system. The biggest restriction in the stock system is the "Y-pipe", which uses very small tubing and restrictive bends.  The Banks "Y-pipe" uses a smooth bend 3" unit. We have installed a few of these systems at our dealership; nobody has complained about the sound level.  Everyone that has this system installed, usually will "Pee" all over themselves the first time the truck is started!!!! This system sounds AWESOME!!!!

Is there a way to let everyone hear the Banks system or any other system for that matter.  I personally like the sounds of Corsa and Borla myself.

I have the K & N off road intake.  It replaces the stock airbox completely.  It is easy to install and sounds great on WOT.  I can't tell if gas milage changed because I also put on 37" tires and the lift.

Beware of losing torque with the Banks' decrease of backpressure!

We need someone to get either a video clip or sound clip of an aftermarket exhaust first...

You should deffinetly see a slight increase in mpg...I added just a cone filter to my Xterra and noticed a 1-2 mpg increase...But the only problem with the intake is that it sounds so damn good at WOT that you tend to give it more gas just to hear it...

But if you can resist slamming the gas pedal down then you will deffinetly see the increase like I mentioned..

is that a replacement high flow filter, or does it relpace the entire air filter box.  from my initial assessment, it seems the air is pulled from the wheel well area, resulting in a cooler air charge.  a high flow filter might increase flow, but if it pulls in hot air, that will negate any HP increases from increase intake flow.

you got any pictures of your intake setup?
