Howdy, this is my first post and first visit to this forum. I actually own and drive a 2004 GTO. However my Dad drives a 2004 Nissan Titan. I am hoping some of you on here can help us with a problem. He is having an issue with initial throttle hesitation. The only modification to his truck is the K&N Aircharger which I installed. He says he had this problem before and after the install of the K&N, but I am not sure that is the case. What happens is when he goes wide open throttle the truck hesitates for a good 2-3 seconds before it really does anything. He says he feels the problem is borderline dangerous. Any ideas out there of what the problem may be? Anyone else have this problem? Or what we can do to fix it? I am actually having the exact same issue with my Tahoe, which I also put the K&N series 77 intake on it (it never did the hesitation thing before the intake install). What should we do? A programer? Go back to the stock intake? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks very much.

Switch it back to the stock intake and have the dealer check it out.

If anything my throttle is TOO sensitive. If I don't mash it REAL easy, my head gets thrown into the back seat. That's why I let the little sucker if front of me get just a little bit ahead before I get going. But like the puffman says above says. When I mash it IT GOES.

I can experience this upon command in ONE spot I move out of the parking lot. Full tank or not. Can't explain the whys and hows but it's like this:
Turn hard right, apply gentle, roll on throttle. Note the initial hesitation, hiccup and then the go juice hits. lol
I'm going to suggest that it has more to do with the drive by wire than fuel starvation I first thougt.

Come on guys, go to your user manual and look up Dynamic Vehicle Control. If you spin your tires, which is very easy to do with the Titan, your trottle will back off until slippage stops and then apply the max amount of throttle without peeling out. Turn this gadget off (button is at lower center dash) and your hesitation is gone, along with your tires.

Oh I assure you that this is not wheel slip. It's a gentle turn into the street for me. I'd guess it's a 20% throttle roll on. In nearly 7k miles I admit to not once mashing the throttle to the floor.

Todd,
Maybe it's just me, but very often in turning corners my VDC takes over when I didn't think I was on the throttle very hard. I also have the tow and offroad package so with my lower gear ratio the VDC is a great help on the street in any weather, wet or dry, to reduce tail spin. It's also possible that something else is slipping and fooling the VDC into kicking in. (This was the case with my wifes Astro Van AWD. The tranny was slipping and telling the AWD to kick in because it thought the rear wheels were slipping.) I bought Nissan for its reputation but after visiting this website I starting to think I bought another bucket of bolts.
