I've had a weird intermittent glitch going on. It has happened to me twice now.
I start the engine and notice my A/C is turned on (the indicator light is on and I can hear the freon circulating). I turn it off (push the button). I stop at the store, get back in, start it up and again the A/C is turned on!. This happened 3-4 times in a row today, then it stopped doing it after I stopped and re-started my engine a few times. It even did it in different settings of the fan and air flow selector dial.
This is the second "episode" of the antsy A/C. My dealer started to explain that it was because of my climate control... then I reminded him that Titans (at least mine) does not have climate control... he was miffed and wants to see if he can duplicate it on my next service in a couple days.
I did mention to him my (and many others) woes about the front power windows locking up, he said there is still no sure fire cure yet...
Anyway, anyone else have this going on with their A/C???

With all my issues I have't had any a/c issues. I live in Az and need the a/c and use it alot.
With the window issue, don't move so quick. push or pull your window switch and hold for a sec. It is a design flaw that so far can' t be fixed.
Good luck

You say the AC light is lit up?...Well 2 times now I have had my AC on and it wouldnt turn off, even tho the light is off, the air is still cold...It seems to do it if I have the defrost on then turn it off, then turn the AC off, the AC light will go out but the air blows cold until I turn the key off and back on... The first time it did that was on a 300 mile roadtrip...I didnt want to pull over just to see if turning the key off would fix it so I had to turn the fan on and off the entire trip to keep from freezing to death.

I know on mine when I'm in Full Defrost (All the way Clockwise) and the AC was on the last time I used that function it'll automatically be on the next time I use it. Also, when in Max A/C both the A/C and recirculation lights come on. I haven't had it come on automatically though. I've always had to change a setting on the control in order to get it on.
Keep us posted on what you find out from the dealer.

Just to confirm this, I have had the same problem with A/C coming on by itself. I have often just shrugged it off to me not remembering what it was set to before but after hearing this I will confirm it does happen. Also I have had cold air blowing out when the light is off, I clicked the A/C button on then off again and that seemed to fix it. I'll keep an eye on it now though.

Don't know if I've had this problem or not. But would I care here in AZ? lol
But....check this one out; closed the door the other day and went to the bank. Down the road the dome light starts to flicker. Over a bump and on it comes, off it goes. Agian. And again. Stop at the bank and dbl check the door is closed tight. Yup. So I tap on the door panel and I have my own disco stage!
You'll note the truck has not door switch. It's on the hinge rod somewhere inside. Oh boy.
And you know, it has not done it again after this one time!

Hi All:
Yes I have the same problem with the air conditioner. Shut it off, and then shut off the truck start it up again air is on. Also have seen where you shut off the air conditioner and the air is still on. Hopefully they will find the problem and someone will let us know what to do. Been to the dealer they say I am nuts. Maybe so but I know what the air conditioner is doing. I cannot make it do this all the time. Oh well any news please let us know. Thanks

A poorly written explaination is on page 4-14 of your owners manual. My take is AC automatically activates when in defrost mode and outside temp is above 36 F. The "if so equiped" statement sounds like some vehicles display the AC light, some don't. I don't like this feature, if I want the AC on, I'll turn it on myself. To easy to have the AC on when not needed with this automatic AC activation.

FYI:
The A/C comes on automatically when you have your defroster on for a couple reasons:
1. To remove moisture in the air that causes your window to fog up, besides removing outside frost/ice.
2. To circulate the coolant during off-season, i.e. winter, so the system stays lubricated.
Can't remember right now on the Titan, but my wife's Maxima's book says
to run the A/C once per month for a few minutes to keep the system in
shape. (kinda like starting your car once in a while that you
store or don't drive much).

if you have the selector on the right set to max-a/c the ac will not go off, unless you turn the fan speed nob to the off position
