I have about 8,000 miles now on an LE 4x4 CC with tow pkg and I notice a clunking in the frnt end over bumps. It is not excessive but drives me nuts and makes the front end feel cheap and sloppy. My dealer says nothing is wrong but feels like a strut is gone or ball joint, anyone having similar problem ?

I am experiencing the same problem.  Happens mainly when I have a series of bumps like rumble strips or going down a dirt road that has bump after bump.  Dealer also says nothing is wrong as well

I had mine repaired today.  The dealership said it was loose rear top shock bolts.  He said there are no more clunky/rattles.  This is the third time the truck has been looked at for this problem.  I pick up the truck tomorrow.  It has been driving me nuts ever since I bought the truck.

Response from Walnut Creek Toyota, Ca.  "Upon inspection verified custormer concern traced noise to the rear of the truck.  Found loose shock mounting bolts. Tighten to spec and road tested.  No more noise."   The noise sounded like it was right under the truck or near the front to me.  I could not believe it was the rear shocks.   It is finally quiet.  I hope this helps.  They got it right after three inspections of the problem

Was the sound ever like a thump...like when you where stopping. As if you had something rolling in the bed of the truck?

Mine clunks everytime I pull into work, but that's it. The parking lot entrance has an incline to it and my wheels are usually cut to the left. The second I hit the incline it clunks. I'll have them check my shocks when they replace my steering column next week.

Mine is continuous over small chop (washboard bumps) and drives me nuts. Sounds like the struts are falling off the mounts of the ball joints are worn out big time.

Anyone's truck sound like the shock bottomed out when you hit even a minor pothole?  Mine really jars you and makes a loud "wham" even when I hit a small pothole in suburbia Dallas.  Worries me.
