Just curious if anyone else has had any problems with the odometer readings in there Titans, especially 4X4 offraos models.  I have had several discussions with both my Nissan dealer and there Consumers Affairs Dept. regarding my odometer being 1/5th of a mile off per mile.  I noticed the problem after running a highway odometer check on several occasions and on each occasion my odometer read 2/10 less then the milepost over a 4 mile run.  I thought the problem might have been due to the off road edition having smaller tires (18" Vs. 19") and perhaps the computer was not reset ot calibrated to accomadate for this.   I am now being told in writting By Nissan North America, Inc. "As we and your dealer have communicated verbally to you, our engineers allow up to a 5% variation in odometer readings, which is in line with the variance you reported."  I should mention that this problem results in the milage showing less then what is actually being traveled and though this seems to work in my favor, it makes it difficult to calculate true gas millage.   I  also wonder if the state DMV is good with 5% variance from the actual milage versus what is showing on the odometer?  Any one else with Titan odometer problems out  there?   5% seems like a bit too much variance to me.  Lets hope that doesn't apply to other Titan specs. Thanks.

Not heard of that particular problem before, and I don't know if I would trust just 4 mile posts. If you are able to test it going down the Hwy for say... 100 miles, and it still shows a 5% difference then I'd be more convinced. But if it is off, at least it is in your favor...lol... As far as the gas mileage is concerned, if you determine that you're actually traveling 5% farther than your odometer reads, just multiply the miles traveled by 1.05, before you divide by the # of gallons used....GL

Hey guys, i'm new to the forum...I think its great.

As for the wheel size, i think its actually 17" vs 18".  But either way, the offroad pkg tires are larger, so there is very little difference in total diameter.  As for 5%, even though that seems high, its probably not unreasonable.

This is a pretty neat site to compare tire sizes.  Enter the 17" and 18" tire to see the actual difference.
