Hey guys,

Im 17 yrs old and I just got my titan, ive already installed some mods, and im tackling the exhaust next. I talked to a performance shop that said they can fabricate a full custom exhaust for me from the headers back. i want true duals but other then that i dont reallly know. They asked for what size tubing, if i wanted high flow cats, muffler type, ect.... So im basically clueless. So im jsut asking for some help on building the ideal exhaust system, and get some peoples differnt opinions. Im holding off on the JBA headers because of what i have heard about short tube. Does any one know when the long tube from NISMO or anyone will be availible? Thanks for all the help.

just make sure that you get what you are looking for and don't get something that you are not sure if you want to keep on your titan. i have a question? don't you think the dual exhaust (if you run it out the back) thing is outdated? i haven't yet tackled my exhaust but i plan to either turn mine straight down so it is unseen or run duals out the factory side. but that is me. just do some more research and i am sure you can get what you want.

good luck.

Outdated? WTF? I have mine straight out the back and I think it looks damn good, like jet engines in the back. I'm old school on that account, and dumping the exhaust at the back axle seems only to make for a louder cabin. For me, running the exhaust out the side is ok, but I kind of like a more symetrical look, not heavy on one side (asthetically that is). But to each his own, but never outdated.

you have a valid point on being heavy to one side and i guess "outdated" deserved a WTF. my point was that it just seems that every time you see a truck, it has duals out the back. i am sure that we'll each find what we are looking for.

I might have been a little harsh, but I must defend my opinion. True, most exhaust seems to be out the back, but now most seem to dump it around the back axle, which in my opinion, I hate. It makes it too loud in the cabin, so why would you want that? I'm not that old, but I do like some peace in the cabin at times. But I have seen some exhaust that is out the side and it looks good, just not my taste. But when installing an exhaust sytem, one should see every option available to him, and make his own decision.

bottom line is that you are right, one should see every option but unless you have money to dump into a truely custom exhaust then we will be limited to what we can do. or at least that is in my case because i have not found any true custom exhaust installers. i did run across a bolt on system that was by "Billy Boat Exhaust" (?) that looked to be a 2 into 1 and got rid of the Y-pipe.

well, don't worry about the Billy Boat Exhaust!! just found the price on-line and it was 849.00, give or take a buck!!!!

still have a question for anyone that can tell me if true duals can be run without messing up the cpu. this is what a muffler shop in my area told me.

Never heard of true dual messing anything up. Before I decided how to run my exhaust, my muffler man just explained to me the differences in the two: noise and price. I didn't want something overly loud, but the price difference was much. He said nothing of it messing a cpu. Find a different muffler shop.
