Well wifey got me a bugshield for x-mas. I'll post pics of it as soon as I can get some made. Really pleased with the turn-out.

have you ever looked at the ones that are installed from the factory or at the dealerships? they look like they are clamped straight to the hood!! that can't be good for the paint?

I got a factory one and it does look like it screws into the hood but doesn't actually.  I think it has a pretty good look to it, sorry, no pictures.  Since putting it on though, my wipers shudder something fierce if over 60 mph.

i just had one installed.  bugshield costs 72 bucks.  110 for labor.  what the hell is that about?  i was pissed off on that one.  yeah, i also noticed a vibration sound at about 55 mph.  over that, it disappeared, though.  anyone else have that experience?

for ptvolly:

i finally figured out why the shutter sound occurs at 50 mph.  it is not the wiper blades at all.  it is the very front of the bug shield hitting the hood because of the wind pressure.  when you look at the truck from the front, it is the lowest edge exactly between the attachment points on the hood.  they really just need more attachment points rather than just 3.  so i got some rubber spacers with sticky stuff on one side, like you can put on the bottom of furniture to keep it from sliding, put it between these attachment points and the problem is gone.  let me know if this helps.
