What the installer should do, is, take out your sensors in your stock wheels and install them on your new aftermarket rims. At first, you will probaly have to take it back the next day for refitting the sensors, seeing that they may leak (around the valve stem). But during the cold temps, you're going to hate the sensors. For some reason, the o-ring may shrink, or gradually wear out, causing more air leaks. I went through this shenanigans for almost 2 weeks, going to the tire store, refitting the sensors, more air, etc. Finally, we just left out the senors and put on regular valve stems on, and haven't had any more problems. The sensor light will stay on, however. But I was told by my tire guy that every auto that has the tire sensor w/ aftermarket rims go to crap, and they simply replace the sensor with regular valve stems. He even was told by a tire sales rep that that's the only solution, and then use black electrical tape to cover that annoying light. Sad, but true.

I ordered my 22's wheel and tire combo already mounted and balanced online, so all I had to do was remove the stock wheels and install the new ones.  My new wheels came with regular valve stems.  I had already anticipated the fact that I would have to drive around with the low tire pressure light on.  But to my surprise, the light never came on.  But wait it gets better, six months or so after driving around on the new wheels the light came on.  I then inspected my tires, and sure enough there was a screw stuck in one of them.  Here is another case I had just a month ago with my wife's '06 BMW 325i originally equiped with run flats and of course low pressure sensor.  I replaced the stock 16's with 19's back in march at my local tire shop LesSchwab.  There was no special valve stem installed and the low pressure sensor never came on, until a month ago when the light did come on and once again I found the nail stuck in the tire.  Some where I had read or heard that these systems in fact detect low pressure by the slower wheel speed rather than the actual pressure in the tire.  Low pressure causes low tire speed causes warning light.  Also want to note that on both of these vehicles the new tires overall height are within 1/2 inch from the stock tire height.

Wow. That sounds like a good thing. Wish I had that kind of luck.

when changing rims and tires on the titan, make sure you dont bring your sensors more than 10-12 feet away from the truck, or you'll have to goto your dealer to re-program the sensors to your trucks computer , also, make sure each sensor goes back where it came from, otherwise they wont work

At the first initial change, they DID reprogram the sensors. But either the new rims weren't symbiotic with the sensors, or the sensors are just a big waste of time, they had to be replaced.

I rotated my tires myself and my sensors still work....I mean I guess they all still do, they have activated the alarm since then.
