Pros:

1 . More airflow to engine = More umph.
2 . Filter lasts the life of truck or thereabouts.
3 . Saves you money in the long-run
4 . Mildly improved gas mileage.
5 . Cool stickers to add to your ride.

Cons:

1 . Too much oil could coat the MAF sensor causing it to not work properly.
2 . If you live in a dusty area need to keep a closer eye on the filter, due to dirt clogging up filter.

There may be more pros or cons, that's just what I have experienced. Maybe some other folks will chime in. Hope this helped somewhat in your decision.

ive used k&n filters for years, never have i had a problem, after cleaning, just make sure its completely dry, and once you re- oil it, just take a rag and whipe it down, this will help from over oiling

Ive got the K&N drop-in. I like mine. I didnt experience any measurable improvement to my gas milage, but I'm sure it doesnt hurt. I try to clean/reoil mine with every oil change, so over time it more than pays for itself. I have noticed that if you arent careful you can "think" the air box is shut good when it isnt...the simple solution is to just to look real good with a flashlight. Make sure the 2 little tabs are stuck down in their holes and everything is lined up good.
