I just received an e-mail from Jet Perfomance Products. They are currently working on an ECU upgrade. The release date is (estimated) mid-late November. The retail will be 399.99. The downside is you have to send them your stock ECU for the up-grade. In case anyone wants to know.

The downtime for the truck would not be ideal for me.  In fact, I would think that it would turn alot of potential customers off.  Couldn't they send the upgraded ECU and you send back the stock one?

That was my thought as well. I work out of my truck and having it down for any amount of time is out of the question. I have e-mailed them with the same suggestion. As soon as I hear back from Jet I'll get back to you guys.

Maybe we shold all chip in and buy an ECU and "pass it around" so no one has down time and JETT always has a spare??!

Heck, I'm sure an ECU is VERY expensive!

FYI, I also contacted Hypertech via email. I got the generic response... Unfortunately we have nothing for your vehicle yet yada, yada, yada. It may help if everyone emails them with the same request to let them know there is a big demand. Just a thought.

ECU upgrade sounds good. BTW, Does the ecu act as a rev limiter also?

I personally would rather see Hypertech come out with something rather than use a jet product. There ecu upgrade lasted about 6 months in my Jeep. Then oneday I started it up and it acted like it was running out of gas. Luckly my friend had experinced the same problem with his Dodge. Knowing this i pulled the jet chip out and it ran fine. I have hade a Hypertech ecu in my Firebird for years with no problems.
