Dear Banks,

I emailed you over a week ago concering the HWY drone of my new Banks exhaust system and never got a response.

My issue: I SPECIFICALLY asked the sales rep about HWY noise BEFORE I purchased the system. He said it was not a big difference and that the system was "designed to avoid HWY drone."

I beg to differ... GREATLY! There is SIGNIFICANT hwy drone anywhere from 60-75 mph... heaven forbid if you are going up a hill at those speeds.

I talked to your tech today and he offer NO fix, suggestions, no sorry, NOTHING.

I am a BIG fan of Banks products and reputation, but my current experience with you has turned me completely off. The internet is a powerful way to comunicate and unfortunately for you many people (and some who have already expressed their views because of my posts) will NOT be buying Banks systems.

I admire your engineering and quality. Get your sh*! together with your sales staff. If this is a modification that will be a SIGNIFICANT issue (noise) during most driving they should at least be up front about it and THEN let the buyer make the decision.

Don't have your sales reps LIE just to get another sale.

Sincerely yours,

Brian Joder
Folsom, CA

I had the same problem with my JBA Evol system. Great system but horrible drone at around 1800-2000 RPM. I have a Snuglid tonneau that allegedly contributes to the problem. Anyway, the shop put a flowmaster resonator in front of the muffler and VOILA!, drone is gone and almost as quiet as the stock with little or no loss of performance. Still has a nice growl when you fire it up or accelerate hard to get on the freeway. The resonator is 3" in and out so theoretically there should be very little or no performance loss. I spoke with the tech support person at Flowmaster and he confirmed there should be no loss of performance. $119 installed for the resonator at FMS Performance Exhaust in San Bernardino, CA. Good luck!

CJS, I feel for you man this is what we deal with with the new Skylines(G35s). They all want the sale and not to hear from you later...unless you like it. Stillen is very much this way as I have had 2 different products on my Skyline and both loss HP and TQ when they advertised great gains. When asked what the problem was the answer was"you're not a professional installer and you don't always get the same results from the same car family" Great answers(BS) but answers none the less and you got no answers out of BANKS. So that leads me to believe that Banks is a crappy company and worse than Stillen. Thanks for making Stillen look good in this area and Banks needs to listen up as I have now crossed them off the list of choices. Hey I'm only but there are other like me and they are not as vocal

I filled out an inquiry online with banks, now I have a saleman that calls me every couple of weeks to try to sell me their system. I live near Gibson Performance Exhaust in Corona, CA. I'm really thinking of trying them. If I have a problem, I'll be in their face everyday.

I see Flowmaster has been mentioned as a fix, has anyone tried Spintech's?

This is the real deal in mufflers.  I run them on my Porsche 928 and they are incredible!

Turn on some sound and visit their site. Flowmasters are good, but these are even better!

If I we're putting an exhaust on a my TITAN, this would be my set up matched to some headers with a crossover pipe and no cats.

Had spintraps and was not impressed for the price premium over the flowmasters they left me feeling like I got ripped as they were louder and almost double the price.

I wasn't impressed with the blowmasters and gladly scrapped them for the spintechs.....
