NEW TO THE FORUM!

Hey guys great to know there is so much information bantered around.  I have an '01 Lariat F350 4x4 and am downsizing to the Titan which from what I can see is one hell of a truck.  I'm very seriously looking at the '05 LE 4x4 w/ entertainment and off-road pkg. - It would really be appreciated if any of you can tell me the reliability or comfort or overall performance of owning this fairly new model from Nissan.  I really appreciate any and all feed back.  Cheers! (Vancouver, British Columbia)  -  p.s.  I' looking at the smoke color with titanium interrior leather (What do you think!)

I've got an 05, Red Alert, CC, 4X4, LE with Offroad, Big Tow, Navigation, DVD, Sunroof, Side Airbags and Bed Extender.  Had it for two weeks now.

Very nice truck with lots of power.  I intend to have it for 8+ years, so I got a lot of the goodies on it.  Very few miles so far but it is a blast to drive.  Haven't had any of the brake or squeak nags that others have had, but it only has 200 miles on it.

Recently noticed that I've got a much bigger gap on the right side of the tailgate than on the left and that the right tail light lens has a gap between it and the metal fender at the top.  I'll take it to the dealer and show them to get their feedback.  May need to drop it off for an adjustment or something.  Someone over at Titan Talk posted that he has exactly the same issue on his 05.  Weird.  Must have been a bad day on the assembly line.... :)

Lady at work has a Lexus and is annoyed that they can't input data or make changes to the navigation system when the vehicle is in motion.  You can with the Titan from what I've seen, though I've only used the thing once.  Didn't much care to have that option, but the dealer had this one loaded and gave me a good deal.

Dealer also dipped the stock rims in chrome on an exchange deal and they were on the truck when I bought it.  Nice look, so I told them to leave them on and I paid $600 extra for them.

So far, that's my only experiences with the truck.  Taking it to work tomorrow for the first time (100 miles round trip), so I'll get some more experiences with it soon!!

Regards,

John

Ive got apprx 7 mths and 7000 miles on my 04 SE kingcab...no major problems yet...

I had a Ford F150 owner admiring my truck last night at the gas station. He said his friend had a new Titan and that when he took off it sounded like it was "taking a deep breath" ..I think he meant that as a compliment, as I could see that envious look in his eyes ...lol

Cool. I get asked about my Titan 2-3 times a week, by complete strangers. It's neat to blow my own horn for a change.

Welcome to the forum! Hopefully you had a chance to lurk and read here. Our trucks are not without problems by any means. NISSAN has to be commended for getting such an awesome truck close to perfection their first time out! I own a 2004 LE/CC and love it to death. Yes, it has some minor quirks (what new model doesn't their first year out?) Heck, i was just on the Ford F-150/250 forum yesterday and they have the same problems we are having! And thats with the newer models. So, with that said, there is not allot of info on reliability as this model just turned 2 years old. I feel another year of maturity for Nissan will help allot, the  '06 models should really be awesome. Comfort factor is biased in my mind because i 'upsized' from a 1986 Nissan pickup (mini) and love the extra room and POWER! Not sure how the Titan it will compare to your beast in that respect.

If i were you i would not expect the same level of 'refinement' as you probably have experienced with your F350, but the Titan should come very close! Have you taken a test drive yet? If not run down and take one.

Good luck on your decision!

Johnboy

I read today that Ford is recalling 792,000  trucks '00 year model. It seems they are catching on fire....this may wind up being worse than the Firestone debacle.

Hey thanks for the input  -  I haven't taken a test drive yet, however, seems semantics at this point as it looks like late May or June before mine comes in.  Every vehicle (new) usually has something happening at one time or another - biggest reason for Nissan for me is I just wanted a vehicle that is in a skyrocket with interest and of course holds it's value being an import name.  Anyways, I'll keep you updated as to the progress on mine.

Again, thanks for the feedback.

Take it easy,

Vancouver, British Columbia
