This is very strange since my manual reads an AKI of 87. Which is what you find on gas pumps.
> So, really, anything over, say, 87, is a waste of money.
Not so. I ran my first two tanks thru with 87 octane. Sure the motor ran fine but I did notice a slight knock on intial throttle tip in. Just like Maximas do when you run 87 in them. I'm a Nissan junky, and I own a 285WHP Turbocharged Sentra just to give you an idea that I'm not talking out my ass. After running 93 octane I can definitely say the knock is gone and the motor revs smoother. My guess here is that Nissan created the ECU program so that it would run okay on 87 octane so that the domestic guys couldn't say that their trucks run on 87 and use it as a downside to the Titan.

You can do that just by letting the truck redline 2nd gear! :)

Only harm you are doing is to your wallet.
