I have just become a sponsor on this site and wanted to announce my presence.  I have an '05 Titan and love it.

No brake problems yet...

I am also an Amsoil Dealer and would love to help anyone with oil for their trucks.  Especially with the new synthetic oil service bulletin for the rear differential of the Titan and Armada.

The site is great and I have learned alot from reading your posts.

Take Care,

Steven Richart
Amsoil Dealer

Just changed to Amsoil 75W-90 Severe Gear, dealer installed the Aluminum Differential cover and put the Amsoil in the front and rear differentials, now I find out about the service bulletin stating that Nissan 75/140 Nissan Synthetic OiI has to be used on all maintenance work done on differentials or you have no warranty at all if something should happen, what's up with this, above is the link to that service bulletin. Have be using Amsoil for years in all my vehicles including my Harley's.

That is correct, however, the reason Nissan went to a thicker viscosity is due to the fact the rear differential seems to have a tremendous heat build up during extended / heavy use.  I would feel confident in the Amsoil 75w-90 Severe Gear, but this is me.  I have been using Amsoil for many years in equipment, vehicles, tractors, and boats.  Never an issue under ANY circumstances.  Next time you do a differential oil change you could upgrade to the Amsoil 75w140 Severe Gear Long Life Synthetic Gear Lube.  It has a drain interval of up to 500,000 miles for over-the-road trucks and heavy equipment.

It is typical that Synthetic Oils, especially Amsoil, run cooler than petroleum based oils.  The magnum-moss act specifically addresses this type of issue.

I hope this helps.

So what do you think of the TSB outlining the mandate of Nissan service techs to use ONLY the Nissan oil.  Looks like they're saying the warranty won't apply if anything else is used.  Any thoughts?
