I've had  my  Titan  for a  month  now and  I just noticed  the  e85  sticker  inside  the  fuel  access  door yesterday.   From  now  on  thats what  I  will be  using  as long as  there  is  a  pump  around  that  has  it,  especially  now with gas being so expensive.  From what I've seen online it looks like it averages $1.60 / gal in most places.  I  was just  wondering  what  kind of experiences  other  people  have  had  using  e85.   What  kind of  mileage do you  get?   Has anybody  done  back  to  back dyno runs using  gasoline  and ethanol?

Did the salesman at your dealers tell you the Titan could  run on ethanol?  I went to 2 different dealerships and nobody ever mentioned it.  This would have been a pretty big selling point to me.  One more thing the Titan does better than the others.

i have also wondered about e85.  i asked all the techs and salespersons in virginia beach and no one knew anything about this new product.  the info on the net says that the truck can get up to 29 mpg on highway.  the manual states that the titan will get about 20-30% worse gas mileage.  i am so anxious to hear what the numbers are for this new fuel too.

I've put about  2 tanks of e85 in it now.  I haven't noticed a significant change in mileage, but I haven't actually measured it yet either.  Most sources I have read say a 10-15% decrease.  The chemical reaction of the combustion of ethanol requires about 15% more fuel than for gasoline.    The lower prices should break even or come out better depending exactly what the prices are.  In Missouri I have been finding it for between $1.82 - $1.89 when 87 octane is between $2.05 and $2.10.  I saw a website where people post what they find e85 selling for and it looks like it ranges from around $1.30 to $2.00.  The site is http://www.cleanairchoice.org/outdoor/PriceForum.asp

I am going to use e85 as long a I can find a pump that has it.

In my 2005 there is a sticker inside the fuel door that says unleaded or e85 fuel only.  If you have a sticker or something that says what kind of fuel to use, and it doesn't say e85 is ok, then it probably isn't.  There are websites that you can input your VIN and it will tell you if your vehicle is compatable with e85. This site lists e85 vehicles and the 04 Titan isn't listed.   http://www.ndcorn.com/contents.asp?id=809
