Had my low pressure warning go off this morn. Stopped and checked my tires, had 3 @ 32 lbs, and 1 @ 30 lbs. I filled them back up to 35 lbs. each. Is funny how every time my sensor goes off it is the morning after a cool snap. Our morning low here today was about 15 degrees cooler than the day before.

Mine went off yesterday morning as well. Hmmm maybe that nail in the tire had something to do with that?

What is the effect if you just do away with these sensors altogether? The reason I ask is that I'm going to be switching my 17's to 18's and want to do it at Cosco. They don't have the capability to work w/ these things, and frankly I hate the thought of my sensor light going off for a 1 psi drop. I know, it's a hell of a thing, having to check your pressure w/ one of them pre-historic pressure guages, but it's also damn expesive to do any work on the tires without a lot of expense. I've heard the light will always be on if you get rid of the system. Is that true?  If so, I don't like that much either.

its kinda weird, if you get rid of the sensors altogether, ive heard ppl having the light on all the time, but when i got my new tires, i kept the sensors, but, when the tire place was mounting the tires on the rims, they had the sensors over 12 feet away from the truck, which de-programs the sensors, so mine dont work anymore, and my light never comes on, maybe you could have cosco do that, theres really nothing hard about removing or installing the sensors, just unscrew the nut holding them on at the valve stem, i dont see y cosco couldnt do it...

I have made posts earlier about this tire sensor. After changing my rims, and cold temps, my tire sensor light would always come on. Also, the o-rings around the sensor would fail, leaking air. I eventually just had to change the valve stems to regular stems. Problem solved except for the light being on.

Fixed the tire pressure annoyance in the winter. Have a local guy that will come to my house and purge my tires of oxygen and fill them with Nitrogen. Tire pressures now only vary 1 to 1.5lbs year round. Just set'em and forget'em.

Bob

I've also got Nitrogen in the tires, no problem.  Of course I do live in Florida, so the cold weather thing isn't a factor.
