I have about 2k miles on my Titan so far and Usually run a full tank down to almost empty. I was wondering though how close to E I can go. When I fill up the guage goes just to the line and thats it. So, on your guages, how far have you run the gas down? Below the E line anyone?

Shawn

When the yellow light comes on you have about 6 gallons left.  If you believe the tank only holds 28 and when you fill it up it is totally full.  I filled mine exactly when the light came on and it only took 22 gallons.

I don't think my fuel gauge is very accurate. The last time I filled up, the needle was fluctuating between 1/4 to 3/8 of a tank. When I pulled into the gas station to refuel, the needle was closer to 1/4. I was figuring on putting close to 21 gallons of fuel into my Titan. Instead, it took about 15.7 gallons until it was full. And no, I can't put the needle beyond "F", even after I top off. (I know that's not recommended, but I've been doing it for years with no problems other than spilling a few drops here and there.)

Do you ever wait for the fuel light to come on?

I can't stand letting the light come on myself.  I have never run out of gas on the road and I don't intend to test my luck.

Well six gallons will be left when it comes on equating to 84 miles before it runs dry at 14 miles per gallon.  I hope ya never run out.

I let it come on a couple times just to get an idea of how much gas I really had left, just in case....

I end up having about 6-7 gallons left oncethe light comes on.

In town, I can get just over 300 miles on a tank, if I go till the light go on.

Same experience, when light comes on, takes 22 gal to fill, assume 6 left.  Interestingly my gas guage is pretty linear, unlike any other car/truck ever owned:  Guage reads exactly 3/4 full at 100 miles, 1/2 at 200, 1/4 at 300, usually plus or minus the width of the needle depending on whether I'm in town or on the road.
