My passenger mirror ran into a little "accident" last night. Someone backed into my mirror and broke off the lower "bug-eye" portion.
I just ordered a replacement mirror from the Dealer. The bug-eye portion isn't available alone, you have to order entire mirror.
Has anyone replaced a broken tow mirror before and if so, was it a big deal or do I have to take it to the dealer? The mirrors are (obviously) power/heated/extendable mirrors.
Let me know any tips or issues I need to be worried about. Thanks in advance.

Well, I couldn't do it myself, I had to take it to the dealer. I'm glad I did too. They did a nice job.
Door panel has to come off to get to the power mirror connector and the clips used to keep the door panel on are "one time use" clips.
Mirror itself was $240. Dealer installed mirror and all new clips for $132 in about 90 minutes.
