Hey guys/gals,
I'm in the market for a full-sized truck. Pretty much the only truck I've looked at was the Titan. I've driven two crewcabs one with and one without the OffRoad (OR) package.
I'm really considering the OR package, mainly because of the larger tires, and other options that come with it. I doubt I'll be doing much ORing, but it's nice to have the little extras if I decide to.
Have any of you gone through Cars Direct or any other online "price" matcher? I contacted the local CarsDirect Nissan dealer and the truck optioned up the way I want seems to be ~ $30,700 and that is:
- 4 door
- OR package
- Big Tow package
- bedliner w/utilitrack
- RF stereo (XM probably)
- captain chairs (not the split bench)
Does this price seem "good" or are you getting better deals? I'm *probably* going to lease. This will be the first time I've ever leased a vehicle. Mainly because I am buying the truck for a specific purpose. To tote my motorcycle stuffa round the next couple years while I race. I currently have an S10 ZR2, but it's too small for this. I need something I can haul my stuff in.
But right now I do not plan to keep it, so I *think* leasing is the way to go for me. I'm in the Cincinnati Area, and if anyone around here's gotten a better deal/price for the above vehicle, let me know.
Thanks,
Dallace

I just ordered one because they didn't have what I wanted. We settled on $1000 over invoice. When he ordered, some prices went up, so I saved a little more. I'm going to end up paying $700 over invoice, which isn't too bad to me. I will get whatever rebates are available at the time of delivery ($1000 today). He also said he would give me whatever dealer cash Nissan gives them. Not sure how I can really tell, but we'll see.
I don't think these things are really moving as fast as everyone would hope, so I think you should be able to get the same deal through any dealer.

I got everything you are looking at PLUS the DVD package for $29,000 plus tax. Print out the invioce price from edmunds.com or kbb.com and take it with you. It's a great tool for getting the price down to where you want it.

I too tow bikes to the track. With just one, the bed is going to be fine. I think with two and carefully aligned stock tie downs on the track in the bed, you can be creative and have a great lock down point for the front.
Just check edmunds.com for invoice. Dunno about your area, but there was a $1000 rebate on mine that I bought yesterday.
Just make sure you get what you need, wants come later.
If you are leasing, it's a whole different ball of wax and you really need to do some research on residual values, increased insurance premiums, early payoff penalties, etc etc!!!
Just do a bit more homework! Measure your bike and make sure it'll fit. I'm sure mine will fit on the short bed but the gate has to be down for sure! But there's a ton of room in the rear for stands ezups, tools, etc!!!!
Good luck!!

Well the dealer told me you must be "crazy" that it was impossible for you to get what I am lookin at, plus DVD for $29,000. They said that the dealer would be loosing money. I don't necessarily believe them, as they are trying to say that if they sell for "invoice" they are breaking even, so anything below invoice and they are loosing money.
Did you have to work hard for this deal or was the dealer easy to work with? Where are you located? If it's close I wonder if it's worth a drive.

I bought an LE crew non 4x4 for $500 over dealer invoice total cost out the door was $ 32964.69. Three dealers in Houston TX would match this price. One would go $250 less. This was a cash deal. Made in january.

I live in Southern California, and I bought it at Rancho Santa Margarita Nissan. Invoice is not what they pay for a truck, they have a net cost that is lower than invoice. Plus they have sales incentives on top of that, increasing their profit. When they tell you they are losing money they are full of it. They wouldn't have sold it to me if they were losing money. I paid cash so they didn't have a chance to make ANY money on finance also. The salesman didn't even haggle over the price I told him how much, and he said OK.
When they tell you no way say OK, and walk towards the door. When they try to stop you as you walk away tell them you are gonna go to XYZ Nissan, and they will give you what ever you want. Take control and tell them what you can do for them (buy a truck), not what they can do for you.
and don't forget Edmunds.com. get some qoutes off of the site from dealers and that will increase your position greatly.
Good luck!
P.S. I'll fax them my sales invioce if they think I'm nuts!

DMtalon, Did you ever get your deal done?
Mustmoto: Great job negotiating...Are you a pro? lol I'm in the process of negotiating right now and will use this for leverage, so THANKS in advance. Was any rebate or dealer cash being offered at the time of your deal? I'm only in Phx, AZ and my brother lives in LA I might have to make a road trip to get my truck. I'll try here first, but might take you up on the faxed invoice. Did your truck have any CA emission stuff added to it? If no deal can be reached, I'll tell them who sent me, maybe a referral fee or free stuff...
Any other deals are greatly appreciated. I'm looking at a LE 4x4 C.C. w/ Big-Tow.
Looking forward to you answers.

Nope,
The dealer didn't want to deal enough. I told them what I wanted, and left it at that. They haven't called back. I'm not completely against buying a new Titan (If I buy a new truck thats what it will be) but it may work out for the best $$$ wise if I keep my S10. I can probably make due with it for another year while I race (motorcycles) as the lower payment will make the cost of racing easier :-/

I dig the hell out of mine. Bought in feb. An Le otd just under $33. I ride too. Truck will never match. Stands on it own though. Makes the drive to & from worth the grind. Waiting may save bucks.
You'll make more. You wont get more time.
Whats waiting at the track? Most of those guys don't fit. Couldn't get a piece if they paid for it. Ya it's full out. In the end, look who your better than.
Get in the real race. Your due or your not.
I looked all the trucks over hard. You wont find all the things you like on the same truck. This one had the most for me this year.
Think it's going to be a one year tour with this bitch though.
