6,500K on my Titan w/tow package.  I was changing the rear dif oil and putting mobil 1 in and I noticed when I removed the drain plug that it was magnetic and had a LOT of metal stuck to it.

Should I be worried, or is this normal?

P.S. I'm picking up a 7,000 lb travel trailer today...

After reading a couple of posts concerning low gear oil
levels in the rear differential I checked mine at 1,ooo
miles and sure enough could not feel any with my little
finger. I then inserted an allen wrench and while
holding it level twisted the tip down & pulled it out.
Again no oil. It took 3/4's of a quart to bring the
level up to the bottom of the fill plug hole. Everyone
should check this as soon as they get their truck home.
There will be some filings due to the normal breakin
period but their should not be an excessive amount.
Good Luck
