First off I would like to state that this is not a knock to the Nissan brand or the Nissan Titan. I'm just wanting to know what my options are to get this resolved. Below is a list of dates with experinces that I've had so far. I've been reading the board here since I bought my truck, but just finally registered so I could get some feedback. I know this is long, but you can skim it and get the jest of it. Please help me figure out how I can get my Titan to new form, like I paid for. It's hard to take the fact that I will have a $30,000 truck that has already had paint work done.

6/28/2004 Test drove new Nissan Titan.

6/29/2004 Signed papers on new Nissan Titan. Noticed multiple scratches and was told by salesman that the scratches would buff out and be taken care of by Patterson Nissan. I also documented that Patterson Nissan was to install receiver hitch at a later date.

7/1/2004 While driving the truck I noticed a very bad shake between 65-70 mph. Called dealership immediately and made an appointment to get it checked the same time as the hitch was being installed. I noticed the pull to the right at speeds and the truck would change lanes if steering wheel was released.

7/2/2004 I dropped the truck off at Patterson Nissan for the hitch to be installed and to find the problem with the shaking. I came back to pick up the truck and the hitch was installed, so I took the truck and noticed that the shake was better, but not all gone.

7/6/2004 Dropped truck off at Patterson Nissan to get the scratches buffed out. I was given a loaner truck by Patterson Nissan.

7/7/2004 I picked the truck up, dropped off the loaner and the scratches were still present. I took my truck because the dealership was closing. They assured me that the scratches would be taken care of the following Wednesday.

7/13/2004 I dropped the truck off to get the scratches buffed out and the alignment checked. I was also hoping that this would fix the slight shake at highway speeds. I was given another loaner truck by Patterson Nissan.

7/14/2004 Received a call that the truck would not be ready and they would need it another day. I agreed and patently waited another day.

7/15/2004 I show up to pick up the truck to my displeasure, that the scratches were still present. The truck was also covered in white powder, inside and out. I talked to the service manager and he had the truck cleaned again, but in the process someone had opened the sliding back glass and soaked my back seat. I reluctantly take the truck home and notice that the truck is still pulling to the right.

7/16/2004 I bring the truck back in to Gary Carson at Patterson Nissan, who drives the truck and says that the truck is pulling to the right more than it should. He also observes the scratches in the truck and says that he feels the top of the truck will need to be repainted. He offers to set up an appointment to get the alignment done and to get the paint specialist out to check it out. I declined at that time because I wanted to see if I had other options available to me. I sat down and talked with Richard Traweek about some solutions, but I was unhappy with any that he had to offer. He informed me that his hands were tied and he would have to get with Ty Patterson on 7/19/2004. He asked that I would give him until after lunch that day, and then give him a call.

7/19/2004 I call Richard Traweek after lunch. He informs me that his hands are tied and has nothing to offer. I then request to speak with Ty Patterson, who then informs me that my only options are to let him repaint it, and keep it in his shop until it is fixed. I requested other options. He gave me the option of trading it in and taking another $5000-$6000 loss. I informed him that was not an option. At this point he informs me that my only other option is to leave it like it is.

You can call Nissan Consumer Affairs at 1-800-NISSAN1, but I think they'll tell you the paint issue is going to be an issue they won't be able to help with other than logging the complaint. The pulling issue is something that should be handled under warranty.
