Ok I know this subject has been discussed already, but I thought the Titans' owners manual recommended 87 octane fuel ??? The reason I bring this up again is because I just noticed in the big 04 Titan brochure, under the ENGINE SPECS, it has a note that reads...."VK56DE Endurance 5.6 liter DOHC 32 valves V8 ....Premium fuel required"   ???????

Just so we are all on the same page so to speak.  All should consult section 9-3 of the owners manual in which it states that owners should use a fuel of 87 octane or higher in normal conditions and 85 or higher in higher altitude conditions.  I'd like to see this document stating it needs otherwise...it could be a mixup in regards to the engine from the QX56 manual.

If you let me know where to see this document I can then call up nissan and find out further

What I'm lookin at is a big 14 x 11 color brochure, that Nissan sent me in the mail about 6-8 months ago when I requested it from their website. It has a red king cab on the cover, but it doesnt have any kind of # or code that I can find. Starting on page 10 there is an 18 page insert at the bottom of the brochure. It is in this insert that I saw the engine listed and a footnote 4 .....the footnote is what states..."Premium fuel required" .....????

I'd highly doubt it would need premium fuel but I'll give em a call tomorrow see what they have to say....especially considering alot of us have been using regular based on the owners manual

from what I was told they aren't sure which brochure it is that states the premium fuel but they said its definitely anything 87 or above is fine.
