Hello

I just purchased a 2004 Titan LE Crew Cab 4x4.  Mine is equipped with the RF 6-CD changer however it does not have the [SAT] button on this model RF. It does have the rear seat radio controls.

When I select the [Radio] button I do not see SAT.  Is this because I do not have an XM Satellite Receiver connected to the head unit yet?  I hate to spend the money on the kit if it is not SAT ready.  In addition to that, the 2004 Titan LE is advertised as being Satellite ready.

Look forward to hearing from anyone on this!

 Hey Babe,

  You have what I have... You will have to use the AUX button for your Sat radio. You will be going from SAT radio audio output to AUX input. Unless you have another reciever installed!!!! If your not handy at this, go to one of the local PROFESSIONAL install places on your area and get an estimate for the work before they do it .....Hope this helps ....

Actually,

If you get the Nissan OEM XM radio you can switch to XM by using the RADIO button just as you mentioned.  I have found that if you go to several places online to order them you can find them for $240 if you put the part number in directly. Watch out for shipping (I would call them) some charge a flat % of total order for shipping some as high as 25%.  It seems that they charge different prices for different vehicles for the EXACT same part number so that is why putting in the part number manually gets the lowest price.

You will need:

XM Tuner: Part number 999U9-NV003

XM Antenna: Part number 999U9-VQ011

I am not so sure about the bracket, some peoples say yes, others say no.  One dealer I talked to said if I had the Rockford Fosgate CD-6 changer unit I didn't need the bracket.  It DOES appear to me that there is a place it could be mounted under the driver side dash close to the N-Bus connector (that it connects to).  I still need to get mine and install it, I just got my Titan 1 1/2 weeks ago so I am figuring it all out as well.

Put int the part numbers I gave you on the direct entry field and you will see the price and can add it to your cart.  I think buynissanparts.com charges a flat 15% shipping rate and not sure about EverythingNissan.com but I called them the other day and they confirmed they could ship it to me for $270 total for the tuner only.  You may want to have it professionally installed if you are not familier with the hook up and running cables, including removing interior parts and components to get to the necessary locations and connections.

Thanks for the info!

I actually decided to order from the dealer.  By time I added shipping on the web it came out to the same price of what I would pay buying from the dealer, including the 6% sales tax and including a 10% coupon for parts from the dealer.  I did not buy the bracket because according to page 6 it says in these installation instructions (http://www.leeparts.com/titansatellite.pdf) I found:

For Titan installations with the last six digits of the VIN being 572935 or later (excluding non-Rockford stereos) the Tuner Brackets will need to be removed from the vehicle per the service manual. The Tuner Brackets will not be present for Titans with non-Rockford stereos, and will need to be ordered.

If there was a bigger savings on the web I would have gone that route but once you add the shipping the price changes and becomes comparable to the dealer.  It seems each site has different shipping prices.  The dealer said I should have my stuff in 3-days.  I made an appointment at Best Buy for the installation.  The dealer says the install is about 1 - 1.5 hours at $89 per hour labor.  A Best Buy install is $80!

Since we pay enough for the truck you should see if your dealer offers any discounts and if not, if they can price comparable to what is on the web.  I am sure there is big markup on parts.  Also price a couple of dealers in your area as their prices may vary.  One dealer wanted $30.00 more than the other dealers for the tuner.
