I have read the posts about the fading and just general problems with the Rckford Fosgate System. Well I have officially own my Titan for two weeks now and I can definately say that the Rockford Fosgate SUCKS!! As someone said in a post, it really sounds like you are listening to an AM station. Terrible job Nissan!! I have the same fading and low volume sound as all of you. If you turn on the SSV feature it sucks and if you turn it off it sucks. It is either to much BASS or not enough, or it is real tinny sounding. The CD is better but not what I expected. I actually picked the Truck I got for the Rockford PKG. I know that seems dumb but it is very important to have a great sound system in a vehicle.
What the heck can we do?

can someone give me a literal review of the radio problem other then it sucks. I will contact nissan customer service and make a record of the complaint but I need feedback as to what you folks are experiencing. I really am satisfied with my RF package I mean its not aftermarket quality but then again it was OEM equipment and I never expected such. Let me know what problems you are experiencing

The tuner seems to fade in and out of lock....or stereo....the sound goes from good to muffled...(and it's just with the tuner...CD or aux is good).....This is not a rare occurance....I belong to another board and almost all users have this problem.....weather they have the RF system or the stock (which is what I have)........I'm hearing (from this other board) that there may be a TSB coming out about this in the next few months.....one of the members is testing a newer radio (and is getting calls from Nissan engineers for feedback).........so cross your fingers and maybe we'll get them fixed...

I am also experiencing poor FM radio reception. When I compare it to my other vehicles in the same areas on the same stations the Titan's reception is significantly worse.

Read the manual - it is all right there. The sound system is the best OEM I have ever heard in a 1/2 ton truck.

I have read everyones complaint and I have exactly the same problem with my Rockford Fosgate stereo system, I have had enough of it. I have asked my dealer repeatedly to provide me with a fix and he seems to think that there is going to be a TSB. When the fix comes out I will be the first in line to get my radio replaced as I am sure all that have complained will be in line to do the same. if Nissan hopes to compete with the the other truck manufacturers they will take care of this problem. Toyota, Dodge and Ford pickup radios blow the nissan radio all to hell, I hate it.

So you bought the RF package without first testing it out and listening to the sound quality? It may be something wrong with just some of the RF packages...mine sounds just perfect.

I Have a stock radio & love the CD sound, you hear everything. Then I switch to listen to a good song on the radio & Wham! I feel like I'm back in my 73 plymouth Valient! WTF? This is 2004, something is wrong. Lets hope it is a simple fix, I almost do look forward to the new Alpine head unit, ADS amps & Boston Acoustic comp speakers though! Just a thought.
