i'm looking to buy a nissan titan, king, SE.  i'd like to get the rockford fosgate package because it's the high end stereo.  can i get some feedback on the following:

quality of the fosgate vs. the regular nissan stereo system - is it really worth it if i find one that has everything else i want but this

location of the ten speakers.  i only found 7 on my first test drive.

thanks for you advice.  critter

I personally would not spend the $ for the Fosgate.

My main beef is that the CD player is VERY sensitive to anything other than NON ORIGINAL Cd's.

My brother made me a Cd, didn't work, I made a Cd on my computer and it worked.

In my opinion I would have not gotten any stereo, but purchased an aftermarket system capable of playing any form of CD and MP3 files etc.

Also, I do not like the feel of the sub-woof's in the seats... I'd rather have a box built so you feel it all around instead of just through the seat..

Just my humble opinion...

i have hundreds of burnt cds that I have with me at most times and all of them play without a problem.  The main thing about the RF stereo is you need to decide what you want.  If you want an aftermarket quality radio and you think this is the one for you then you'd be best holding your money.   If you want a good factory radio and have no intentions of upgrading in the future I'd say RF is for you.

Your best bet is to listen and play with the RF on a model at the dealer and decide if its for you.  I'd grade it a B for factory systems but as I said if you are looking for loud bass that can rattle your windows this system isn't for you.

A factory radio is just a factory radio.....it is meant to be upgraded...but it suits me fine and I love it.  I have had no problem with playing any kind of cd's....

Both of the reviews above give agreat synopsis of the RF plus and minus. Iwanted to add that many people have spoken about getting the RF system and upgrading the speakers. I'm really pushed that way because of the dash set up. Nissan really sticks you with an odd shape to put an aftermarket deck into. I feel I will have no option but to upgarde the speakers beacsue the Titan is so new that not much is out there for us

I'm very happy with the Rockford Fosgate system.  The ten speakers rock!  And I like the position of the sub.  The shake in the seets lets you really feel the base.

I like the RF system, some suggest that the marketing is misleeding because all the parts are Clarion or Panasonic. I would agree with this, but its not bad for a factory set up. I wonder what benefit new speakers would have? And, you may have to modify the ampage output to new speakers? There are experts on this in this forum.

I have asked the experts and gotten some responses. I would like it if someone could post a "how to/what you need to look for" but I am happy with what was given.

I got the standard 6-Disc system. It works alright, but I'm sure the RF system is a lot better. I plan to upgrade mine sometime in the future.

If your even thinking about going this route, I'd agree with all the above. Get the standard system and upgrade to an aftrerrmarket system later.
