Hi, new here, got a few questions...

The SAT button on my "no XM" radio does nothing, is that correct? Does anybody know why it's there?

If I would like to get XM/Sirus, I will need to use the FM modulater, or the "AUX" jack, but using the "AUX" jack gives me poor volume levels, is that correct?

What are the pros, & cons of both XM, and Sirus?

if you get the factory XM receiver installed into the head unit, then the SAT button functions the same as AM or FM or CD.

i have had no luck in hooking up my roady XM with the fm mod or the aux jack.  they sound not good in my opinion.  in my former car i used the cassette adapter and it was awesome.

i like XM.  they both are about the same, but XM is cheaper.

the best bet for sound quality in my opinion is to get the factory XM unit, but you'll have to crack the wallet open for that.  supposedly, there are supposed to be some internal XM receivers that will be compatible with all car stereos, but i've not seen one yet.  i will wait longer to see what comes up.

I would have to say that using the AUX input vs. the Cassette Adapter or FM is much better. The Delphi (SkiFi, Roady, Roady2) all have a setting in the menu to increase the gain of the output. By hooking the patch cable into the AUX port you should be reasonably comparable to a directly wired system (not withstanding the pros/cons of RCA, gold plating and large diameter cables)

I recently purchased a new Titan with the Rockford Fosgate System and am very pleased with the sound quality using the Roady2 from XM. I have the gain set at 8 so that the sound level is the same as a CD and doesn’t blair when switching between the two

My previous system (old truck) consisted of a Pioneer XM Ready Deck and the Pioneer IP Bus Tuner (sorry don’t recall the model numbers)

That's good news, I've been leaning towards the Ski-fi. Were did you mount the ant.?

On the roof, just forward of the center high brake light. There is just enough space to put the cord under the brake light and then through the sliding window (or through the brake itself and into the headliner if you are looking for the cleanset job), this way there is only a small amount of the cable exposed. The anntenna on the Roady2 is very small and you have to actually look pretty close to see the antenna at all.

I haven't mounted the unit inside yet, however I prefer to use mounting systems that are custom to the vehicle (same for cell phone) The are a couple at www.proclipusa.com that are very secure and don't damage the interior or make you use double sided tape to mount.
