Funny,

Why would you mount an air temp senso so close to the radiator? I noted on a long haul up and down the mountains on my last trip that the air temp sensor was nowhere near accurate as to the outside temp. Heck it read 89 degrees and it couldn't have been 68-70 degrees.

I noted that when going from desert vallys to high mountans that the temp senso was VERY slow to change and always was on the high side once the motor was up to HWY running temps.

Is this the outside temp sensor described in the manual? If so I'm going to move it further away from the radiator... and mount it to plastic, not metal! Can anyone tell me if this is indeed the sensor?:

Thanks!

CJS

I don't know if that's it or not, but I agree with you 100%.  The air sensor is almost always on the high side, even at Interstate speeds, which doesn't make sense to me.  Let us know if you find out.

I was driving home tonight after the Bucs game and while I was in traffic (stop and go for about an hour) my air temp was reading 103 degrees, and this is at NIGHT!!!

I guess you are right, that is the air temp by the radiator, what a dumb place for it! I know it needs to be somewhere it can get a constant outside air flow, perhaps they could have put it on the lower grille?
