Badges gone. I've always disliked the cartoonish-looking "4x4 OFF ROAD" stickers that manufacturers plaster onto their trucks, so off they came too. I didn't want them any more than I would have wanted "POWER WINDOWS", "HEATED SEATS", "FLOOR MATS", or any other option announcing decal cluttering up the paint. Note that in addition to the racks, the toolbox also is mounted into the utili-tracks. The toolbox severely limits the forward placement of the front rack. The basket will serve a useful purpose for me on some occasions when I'm hauling stuff. The whole thing removes easily, so when not in use it'll store in the shed. I think a section of 3/4" ply cut to fit, covered with outdoor carpet and placed into the basket will provide me with a nice elevated platform from which to watch the motorcycle races. And come next November, if I park in just the right location, I might even put the whole apparatus into service as a deer stand. We'll see. What do you think? The grille/bumber insert is sturdily made of polished, tubular stainless steel. It bolts securely into place. I like the vertical lines of it. I'm ashamed to admit what it cost. It's available through wholesalers from J&J Enterprises out of California.
Just a side note, 4500 miles thus far and not a single complaint of any sort. Everything works as it should. I'm convinced I would never have bought it if I had discovered this forum and done a little reading first. I'm not naive, however, so I anticipate my share of things in due time.
