Has anyone with a 2004 crew cab removed the back sliding window and installed the vertically sliding 2005 power window they put in?? I have seen it done. Is this aftermarket or bought by the piece from Nissan?? Anyone?

Right after I bought mine in August of last year, I saw a guy drive buy with a 2004 crew cab. It was before the 2005's came out. I talked to the guy and he was a writer for 4WD magazine and he said they had put the 2005 power vertical slider in and it was a prototype for the 2005's. A few months later the '05's came out and sure enough it had that window. So I know it can be done in an '04. I have ordered the parts to put the tailgate assist in my '04. I will let you know how that goes.

Cool,

Keep me posted I am very interested in how it comes out.  How much did the parts cost?  I'm thinking you had to get new glass too right?

I looked into this mod myself...the parts did not cost that much as I recall, but it looked to me as if it would require cutting sheet metal and possibly even welding/custom fabrication...Im not opposed to attempting bolt-on mods or even drilling an occasional hole or 2, but cutting/welding are beyond my abilities. Keep us posted on your tailgate mod. I would be interested to know just what all is required..keep on truckin
